In September, we started a new season for the Book Club hosted by Reconciliation Saskatoon and the Saskatoon Public Library. This is a fantastic way to continue to listen and learn, and connect with others on a journey of Truth and Reconciliation. The Book Club will meet on the 3rd Thursday of every month, now over the lunch hour so you can get your coworkers involved and hop on a zoom from the office. Here are the upcoming titles, and the links to the zoom meeting will be available here, closer to the meeting! You can also find the links on the Facebook event page or Saskatoon Public Library

There are two options for participating in these Intercultural Talking Circles, led by Indigenous Knowledge Keepers. Both options are free, but we ask people to register. Participants will learn the protocols of a Talking Circle and everyone will have a chance to share stories!
Talking Circles (or Sharing Circles) bring people together to share their truths and build community. To learn more about Talking Circles, check out RavenSpeaks.ca or PasstheFeather.ca
“Talking circles are instrumental in forming connections that lead to Belongingness, a feeling of security and support when there is a sense of acceptance, inclusion and identity. Belongingness leads to participation, decision making, sharing, caring, learning, exchanging, speaking, and being heard. It is about making others a part of you and at the same time, becoming a part of them. It is about existence, community and life!”
– Nidhi Singh
The Healing Circle takes place on the third Wednesday of every month. This circle is led by an Indigenous Knowledge Keeper(s) and members of the circle, and we follow the protocols of the Talking Circle and begin each gathering with a smudge. The path of Truth and Reconciliation is difficult! This is a circle where you can find support and community. We build relationships and share our stories with each other. All people are welcome. We meet in the Cultural Room at the Saskatoon Police Service (76 25th Street East) and visitor parking is available next to the building. Please email beaconnectr@gmail.com to be added to the email list for Healing Circle participants.
Hear stories about the origin of the Walk for Reconciliation, listen to communities walking for reconciliation, watch cultural performances, and more! Special thanks to the SK Intercultural Association for their role in organizing the online event.

Our Be A ConnectR YouTube channel features Residential School Survivors telling us about why the Walk for Reconciliation is important to them, as well as sharing stories. Listen, learn, show up and share these important truths.
